One of Asia’s top golf courses, TPC Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia is set to get a makeover. The course features annually on the PGA Tour with CIMB Classic as well as hosts Sime Derby on the LPGA Tour. The flagship West Course will be closed in November for a period of 10 months to undertake a full renovation.
The overhaul includes a complete re-grassing, with a shift from Paspalum to Bermuda — Tifeagle Bermuda on all the greens and Celebration Bermuda on fairways and tee boxes — that will better withstand the high temperatures, rainfall and humidity in the tropical Malaysian environment. The course will be lengthened with several new tee boxes, fairway bunkers will be added and re-positioned to enhance the original design strategy, and some green contours will be reworked.
